Widely cultivated for its fragrant flowers, it has been traditionally used in<br \/>\nvarious medicinal systems across the globe. This review aims to provide a comprehensive<br \/>\noverview of the plant's botanical characteristics, phytochemical composition, and reported<br \/>\npharmacological activities. The plant is rich in bioactive compounds such as glycosides,<br \/>\nsaponins, flavonoids, and essential oils, which contribute to its therapeutic potential. Various<br \/>\nstudies have highlighted its antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic<br \/>\nproperties, supporting its ethnomedicinal uses. Additionally, the aromatic oil extracted from its<br \/>\nflowers finds extensive application in perfumery and aromatherapy. Despite its traditional<br \/>\nsignificance, scientific exploration of Polianthes tuberosa remains limited, indicating a need for<br \/>\nmore detailed pharmacological and toxicological studies. This review underscores the medicinal<br \/>\npotential of P. tuberosa and advocates for further research to validate and expand its applications<br \/>\nin modern medicine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","issues_type":[40],"class_list":["post-6409","jsri-issue","type-jsri-issue","status-publish","hentry","issues_type-vol-11-4-2025","has-post-title","has-post-date","has-post-category","has-post-tag","has-post-comment","has-post-author",""],"ptb_metabox":{"ptb_jsri_issue_upload_pdf":{"url":["https:\/\/www.bhumipublishing.com\/jsri\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/7.-Polianthes-tuberosa.pdf"],"title":[""]},"ptb_jsri_issue_author":"Chantra I, G.
